Holiday Lights

Tonight Corbin had some things to handle so the kids and I boarded the mini and headed south to the Thanksgiving Point Light Display.  It consistently debazzles us each year as we drive through gazing at a million twinkling lights.  Clark Griswold would have been proud.  What is it that makes the miniature light so magical?

As we were entering the gate there was a sign with the prices and Matthew asked how much it cost to get in.  I told him $8 to which he replied "That's alot of dollars.  We will have to walk through!"  A boy after my own heart.  The drive was worth it and held the kids captivited.  Matthew commented a few times that this was the best Christmas ever and Spencer let out a bellow when he saw a "ball ball."  At the end of the display several large Christmas scenes were featured with accompanying signs.  They loved the full sized plastic manger scene at the end.

Tonight when Matthew was saying his bedtime prayers, he thanked Heavenly Father for sending the best Christmas present ever--the baby Jesus born on Christmas day.  It was so sweet I wanted to cry.  He is such a sensitive child and I love the tender side of him.

We rounded out the night with a candy cane shake from Artic Circle.  It doesn't really get any better than that.  Except for the moment that I stood outside the house tonight after readjusting the illuminated twig reindeer (with full motion head) for the one thousandth time and gazed at the twinkling exterior lights as the tree stood proudly in the front window and it was beautiful.  I feel truly blessed.
