I just ordered a superhero cape pattern on Etsy for $5.75. They will send it to me in PDF form within 24 hours. (Actually it just arrived within 5 minutes in case I want to get cracking. There's some clicking and some passwords involved in the accessing but I think I can do it if I read the instructions carefully. This is a high tech adventure for an old fashioned hobby.)
Patterns have come a long way--apparently.
I'm not quite sure what to do with the pieces that are bigger than an 8 1/2 x 11 when I print it but I'm sure that's been addressed in the sales price.
It looks like the construction of two fine superhero capes have made their way onto my holiday to do list. I really have enough to do but I'm in love with two superheroes so what's a mother to do when she watches her offspring jump around with a single sheet of paper taped to the back? Looks like I'll have a few late nights with my Brother (sewing machine).

What a good mom! Hope it is EASY and FAST! I'm still working on getting our Christmas stockings all finished! :)
